prepare for high school then prepare for college then prepare for your career then prepare for retirement then you’re dead
"Please don’t expect me to always be good and kind and loving. There are times when I will be cold and thoughtless and hard to understand."
The “WHEN i get married” and “WHEN i have kids” really gets me pretty mad about the mind set that most people have. People just assume they will be married or they will have kids but why is that? Chances are you don’t know your “future spouse” so you’re planning on a marriage before you even know your partner? Marriage is a long term commitment, or at least supposed to be and while it is a great thing in about 50% of marriages, the other half is splitting families, causing grief for children and financial stress on everyone. I’m not saying don’t get married by any means, I just hope that people take a step back and really analyze his or her plans for the future and the wellbeing of themselves and others. Basically all I’m saying is be damn sure about spending FOREVER with a person instead of just wanting the standard life that has been passed down for thousands of years. It isn’t a requirement to get married or to have kids, and really looking at your options could help ease the lives of yourself and other people.
— sincerely a girl who’s seen her mom go through 3 divorces, said goodbye to 4 step brothers, and gotten pretty bruised up from two “dads” just because somehow all that isn’t seen as bad as just being fucking single.
